With so many concerns about the environment, health and our quality of life these days, most of us want to do something about improving all of these things, but how can we do that without making life really impractical for ourselves? In an ideal world, we would seek out the small shops with wonderful, fresh, locally grown produce – preferably organic. In an ideal world, we would grow our own veg, cycle to work and feel healthier and worthier. But in real life, we spend our time rushing around trying to get to work on time, driving the kids about, or dashing for the bus or train, unable to do much but the supermarket shopping once a week.

Well, here's your chance to stop feeling guilty and do something practical about all of these issues without actually ploughing up your lawn to grow biofuels or putting a wind farm on your roof! You can support small, local, organic growers in your area, without having to shop around in inconvenient places.

Join our box scheme and delicious, organic, local produce will be delivered to your door. You can easily adjust your order. If there's something you don't want, or something extra that you want added, you can just e-mail or phone me and we'll arrange it. Your delivery will be specially selected for you and packed in a wooden or cardboard box and it will be delivered to your door at a time that is convenient to you. You won't be offered strawberries in January, but some exotic produce, like pineapples, produced under strictly organic conditions, may be imported over land from Italy, for instance. The growers of the local produce are all members of a co-operative, called EOSTRE, based just across the border from us, in Norfolk.

In addition to the fruit and vegetables we have sought out a range of other products chosen for their local, organic or ethical credentials. We are looking for those small, independent-minded producers in the area who are passionate about creating something special. Often these artisan producers make small quantities and their produce is rarely found in supermarkets.

We know we have only scratched the surface of what is available but we aim to expand the range as we find new sources.
